What is a biocompatibility issue?

It is an inappropriate response by the immune system to a substance which is not usually harmful. Often followed by nasal congestion, skin rashes i.e. hives etc, itching, red eyes, coughing, wheezing, fatigue, headaches, shortness of breath, eczema, asthma etc.

Some of the most common biocompatibility issues are caused by foods such as, wheat, gluten, dairy products, nuts, shellfish, eggs and chocolate. Often people get confused about the difference between intolerances and a biocompatibility issue. Intolerance is when the body is unable to digest and process a particular food correctly, this is usually due to the lack of a certain enzyme or enzymes. Whereas a biocompatibility reaction occurs  when a person’s immune system  generates an inappropriate response to the ingested food, however, food intolerance can lead to complications if the particles of undigested food manage to enter the blood stream and cause a reaction (such as in leaky gut).

bullet   Do you think you might have a biocompatibility issue (reaction) with something in your every day environment?
bullet   Would you like to find out what is causing you this discomfort?

Well maybe I could be the key to helping you solve the puzzle. I am now consulting for a company that does biocompatibility testing. We test 400 condiments that most of us come into contact with every day, such as: different fruits, berries, alcohols, everyday drinks (like tea or coffee), sea foods, herbal teas, herbs and spices, sauces, seeds, stocks, meats, oils, dairy foods, supermarket breads, soy products, green vegetables, sprouts, other vegies, nuts, spreads, flours and grains, gluten free products, breakfast cereals, chocolate/sweets, biscuits, sugars/sweeteners, laundry products, deodorants, sunscreen, bathroom chemicals, kitchen/cleaning products, toothpaste, hair/fibres i.e. wool, metals, common supplements, creams and ointments etc.

Biocompatibility issues can also have a genetic component, for example often if one of the parents has an issue, it will follow suit that one of their children may also have similar reactions. If both parents suffer with these reactions there is an even greater risk for the offspring.

The fact is biocompatibility issues can be a very frustrating part of one’s life and can cause a great deal of discomfort and unhappiness.

If I can be of assistance and shed some light on this problem for you,
don’t hesitate and call me.
